– a cross channel collaborative project with refugees and displaced people.
Butterflies are powerful representations of the cycle of life. People often compare the butterfly with hope, endurance and change and this is very much a reflection of the plight of the refugees who flee war torn countries seeking safety and sanctuary.
‘Fly Free’ is a travelling project embracing people from all over the world in a united art project. It is open to all ages, abilities and nationalities. Thousands of handmade butterflies will adorn the walls of galleries and spaces in a powerful display of beauty, fragility and optimism in a gesture of unity and collaboration.
Refugees across Northern France are already participating in this project and we are inviting schools, clubs, groups of all ages to join us in the making of thousands of butterflies.
